To fit a disabled bathroom
A bathroom for a person with disabilities needs to be adapted so as it is easier for the person in the wheelchair and / or a helper.
Shower
The shower area has an easily accessible shower with or without a seat, one of the side panels can be removed to allow wheelchair access to the seat.
Toilet
A toilet is raised to allow transfer from wheelchair to the toilet easier, it can also be raised to help the action of standing up.
Taps
The taps are changed on the basin and bath to lever action so that they do not have to be gripped/held to turn. Through a thermostatically controlled valve, you can have temperature controlled taps, which prevents scolding.
Sink
The sink is lowered (if needed) so that it is assessable from a wheelchair.
Body Dryer
So as the person in the wheelchair can either sit or stand infront of the dryer to be dried. This is helpful if balancing is a problem.
Non Slip Flooring
This is flooring that does not become slippery when wet. It is easily available from most flooring suppliers.
